Introducing Simply Beyond: Conversations for Leaders, Caregivers, and Changemakers

If you’ve ever sat in a meeting, a classroom, or at your kitchen table and wondered, “How do we make this a place where people truly belong?” — you’re in the right place. Simply Beyond is where real stories, practical insight, and inclusive leadership meet. This episode sets the stage for a new chapter under the Simply Good Form Inc umbrella, inviting leaders, caregivers, educators, and allies into deeper, more human conversations about identity, change, and cultures of belonging.

This short episode introduces the new direction of the podcast and why the Simply Beyond umbrella was created.

In this introductory episode, Cyn shares the story behind the show, the mission moving forward, and how Simply Beyond brings together previous podcast conversations into one evolving platform for storytelling, inclusive leadership, and cultures of belonging. To dive deeper into how this connects with our consulting and coaching work at Simply Good Form Inc, you might also like our post on building cultures of belonging at work.

💡 Pro Tip: As you listen, notice which stories or questions resonate with your role — as a leader, caregiver, educator, or ally. Those moments often point to where meaningful change can begin.

Sometimes the most meaningful work begins with a question.

Not a perfectly formed plan.
Not a polished strategy.

Just a question that keeps returning until you decide to follow it.

For me, that question has always been about belonging.

Over the past several years, through my work with Simply Good Form Inc, my speaking engagements, and my writing, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in conversations about identity, inclusion, and the ways our workplaces and communities can become more human. If you’re reflecting on these themes in your own role, you may find our article on inclusive leadership practices for modern workplaces helpful.

Those conversations also gave birth to a podcast.

What started as Hey, Cis! — a space to explore gender diversity with curiosity and humility — grew into something larger than I originally imagined. For more on this evolution and our commitment to transgender and beyond-binary inclusion, explore our post on supporting trans and non-binary employees at work.

Along the way, I heard stories that were courageous, complex, and deeply human.

Stories from transgender and non-binary people navigating identity.

Stories from parents learning alongside their children.

Stories from leaders trying to build workplaces where people truly feel they belong.

And through those conversations, something became clear.

“Belonging lives in the everyday moments where we choose to see, hear, and honour one another.”

— Reflections from the Simply Beyond journey

These conversations were never only about gender.

  • They were about how we show up for each other as human beings.

  • They were about courage.

  • They were about learning.

  • They were about leadership.

And that realization is what led to this next chapter.

Why “Simply Beyond”

The name Simply Beyond reflects a belief that has guided much of my work.

That growth often happens when we move beyond the assumptions we’ve inherited.

Beyond labels.

Beyond fear.

Beyond the idea that we have to have everything figured out before we begin.

The Simply Beyond podcast will continue to feature stories and conversations about gender diversity and allyship. Those voices remain incredibly important.

But the conversations will also expand to include broader themes around:

  • leadership and authenticity

  • navigating identity and life transitions

  • building cultures of belonging

  • learning to lead with curiosity and compassion

Because the truth is, these conversations intersect in powerful ways.

The courage it takes for someone to live authentically is not so different from the courage it takes for leaders to create environments where people feel safe to do so.

A Space for Real Conversations

Simply Beyond is not a place for perfect answers.

It’s a place for honest questions.

The kind of conversations where people can pause, reflect, and sometimes even reconsider what they thought they knew.

You’ll hear interviews with advocates, leaders, and individuals whose stories invite us to look at the world — and ourselves — with a little more empathy.

And occasionally, you’ll hear reflections from me as I continue my own journey of learning and growth.

Thank You for Being Here

If you’ve been listening since the early days of Hey, Cis!, thank you for being part of this journey.

And if you’re just discovering the podcast now, welcome.

The conversations ahead are about moving beyond assumptions and into deeper understanding — of ourselves, of each other, and of the communities we’re building together.

Because belonging isn’t something we achieve once.

It’s something we practice.

Every day.

📌 Key Takeaway: Whether you’re leading a team, supporting a loved one, teaching students, or navigating your own identity, you are part of shaping cultures of belonging. Small, consistent actions — listening, learning, and leading with curiosity — create lasting change.
