Meet Cynthia

Cynthia Sweeney (she/her) is a Certified Transition and Leadership Coach, Consultant and award-winning advocate for inclusive change. She is the founder of Simply Good Form and the author of The Pink Balloon, a children’s book about gender identity and shining as your true self. She is co-author of the #1 International Bestseller Voices of the 21st Century: Unstoppable Women Standing Strong, published February 2026.

Known for her heartfelt storytelling and grounded leadership insight, Cynthia’s work sits at the intersection of courage, compassion, and personal growth. Her leadership journey has been shaped by lived experience as the mom of a transgender child—an experience that transformed both her personal life and her professional purpose.

What began as advocacy rooted in gender inclusion has evolved into a broader leadership practice supporting individuals and organizations navigating change. Today, Cynthia works with leaders, teams, and women standing at the edge of new chapters—whether that’s a career shift, a leadership transition, or a moment of deep personal redefinition.

Through Simply Good Form, Cynthia blends emotional intelligence, inclusive leadership strategy, and practical tools to help people move forward with clarity, confidence, and authenticity—even when the path ahead feels uncertain.

Whether she’s facilitating workshops, advising executives, coaching individuals, or speaking on stages, Cynthia’s work is rooted in one simple belief: courage doesn’t require certainty—only care, intention, and a willingness to say yes to what matters most.

She lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with her family and believes deeply in the power of one voice to spark meaningful change.

How My Work Has Evolved

In 2019, Simply Good Form began with a focus on gender inclusion and belonging—work grounded in lived experience and community advocacy.

Over time, that work grew into something larger.

What I witnessed again and again—across families, workplaces, and leadership teams—was that people weren’t just struggling with inclusion. They were struggling with change, uncertainty, identity shifts, and moments of deep redefinition.

Today, my work spans three connected domains:

Organizational Consulting

Supporting workplaces to build inclusive, human-centred cultures rooted in respect, empathy, and belonging.

Leadership & Transition Coaching

Working one-on-one with people who are navigating change, standing at the edge of new chapters, or feeling called to live and lead more authentically.

Author & Speaker Work

Using storytelling, books, and speaking engagements to spark conversations about courage, compassion, and leadership rooted in lived experience.

My Why: The Origin of This Work

My leadership journey began with a moment that changed everything.

The day I learned I was the mom of a transgender child, I met a crossroads—one that reshaped both my personal life and my professional purpose. What started as a mission to support my own family grew into a commitment to making workplaces, classrooms, and communities safer and more inclusive.

Advocacy wasn’t something I planned. It emerged from love, necessity, and a refusal to stay silent in the face of harm or misunderstanding.

Over time, that advocacy expanded into leadership work, coaching, consulting, and storytelling. What stayed constant was the heart of it: helping people feel less alone in moments of transition, uncertainty, and becoming.

This work is not theoretical for me. It is lived. It is relational. And it continues to evolve as I walk alongside individuals and organizations navigating change.

What I Do Today

Through Simply Good Form, I support individuals and organizations in navigating change with courage, compassion, and clarity.

My work includes:

  • Inclusive leadership consulting and strategy
  • Gender diversity and belonging initiatives
  • Leadership and transition coaching
  • Workshops, facilitation, and keynote speaking
  • Culture change and human-centred leadership development
  • Story-driven learning and organizational storytelling

Every engagement is grounded in emotional intelligence, lived experience, and practical application. I don’t believe in performative inclusion or surface-level leadership. I believe in work that is thoughtful, human, and built to last.

Who I Work With

I work with:

  • Organizations and leadership teams
  • HR and people & culture professionals
  • Non-profits and community groups
  • Women navigating career, identity, or life transitions
  • Leaders standing at a crossroads or growth inflection point

Whether you’re an organization building a more inclusive culture or an individual stepping into a new chapter, my role is the same: to walk alongside you with clarity, care, and grounded support.

My Values

Everything I do is guided by five core values:

  • Courage — choosing what’s right, even when it’s uncomfortable
  • Compassion — leading with empathy and humanity
  • Clarity — cutting through noise to what truly matters
  • Belonging — creating spaces where people feel seen and respected
  • Authenticity — showing up as your full self, without apology

These aren’t buzzwords for me. They are daily leadership practices.

Let’s Work Together
